Eowyn from Lord of the Rings
Cost: $65
Time: around 10-20 hours
Debuted At: not worn to a con
Why I Made this Costume: A costuming event in highschool. I liked Eowyn pretty well in the book, but didn't care too much for her costumes in the films. So I designed my own.
How I Made this Costume: I used a pattern for this dress, and except for tightening the sleeves on the upper arm, I followed it perfectly. I used a white calico fabric for the dress. It had a nice weight and
looked fitting. For the insides of the bell sleeves I used a sheer, sparkly gold fabric that had a leaf pattern on it. I wrapped this fabric around some rings (the rings were made to hold large curtains up for the belt decoration. I used a gold leaf motif on several areas to signify the
White Tree of Ithilien.
My Thoughts on this Costume: This costume was a great accomplishment for me. I tried a lot of techniques on it and learned a lot of new things. I'm always trying to learn something new with
each costume I make!
