Lady Luck Paine from Final Fantasy X-2
Cost: $70
Time: around 15-20 hours
Debuted At: Anime Weekend Atlanta 10
Why I Made this Costume: I am SUCH a Paine fangirl. She is just so badass, and says the funniest things in random battles. Her Lady Luck costumes is just such a
sexy and unique design.
How I Made this Costume: This costume was made without a pattern, just by pinning the fabric to my dressform and drawing the shape on it and then cutting it out. I luff you, dressform! :B
I couldn't find silver piping anywhere, so I made my own. This was the first time I had ever made piping of my own, so I felt all professional and stuff (which is dumb, because it's one of the easiest sewing tasks, like,
ever). The blue parts are made out of swimsuit material. The black part is made out of spandex that has a horrible holographic Hawaiin print on one side--yuck! However, the holographic design gives the perfect sheen to the backside of the fabric. :D
I used clear thread to secure the front and clear straps on the sides. Nothing is going to be popping out of this costume! For the purple gradient, I just used purple silk flower spray paint.
My Thoughts on this Costume: I really like this costume and think that it is the most accurate one I have ever made. It's lots of fun to wear, too! I really need to make a new wig for it, though. I'm not too happy with the current one. Also,
the boots I have are knee-high, and I need thigh-high.
